This type of flute is among the oldest known in North America, and was widely used by tribes in the Southeastern U.S. Many of the accounts of early European explorers describe this type of flute. We use only Native Rivercane for these flutes. The sound of these flutes is generally brighter and crisper than wooden flutes, with more volume. Due to the limited size of Rivercane, they are not available in as wide a range of keys. It is hard to find a good steady supply of Rivercane, so we can't always make these. Please call us and we'll let you know if we have cane or when we will be able to get some. Prices of Rivercane flutes vary according to key, size and quality of cane, and decoration. Prices usually range between $100.00 and $250.00.
