A Beloved Woman of the Ancient Cherokee enjoyed a life of respect and honor. This Bestowed title was always associated with a natural gift.  The gift might be a dream or vision and spiritual insight, or a gift for working with children, being a great hunter, warrior, or someone astute in civil affairs. The gift could have many possibilities, but the main consideration was a profound wisdom and depth that made the gift a real part of her life, thus committing her to a lifetime of service to her people. In this matriarchal society, her opinion was always heard and held in high regard.
